Metform is seeking an experienced CNC Operator in Savanna, IL. This full-time, non-exempt role operates CNC machines on the 3rd shift from 10:30pm to 6:30am at our onsite Extrusion Science Building (ES) location.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing basic measurements, and maintaining quality standards while documenting processes and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

As aCNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining our standards of excellence.

Job Details

• Position Type: Hourly, Full Time (Non-Exempt)
• Work Hours:Monday - Friday | 3rd Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am
• Pay Range:
• $16.00 - $19.00/hour, depending on experience
• $2.00/hour shift premium
• Work Location: Onsite - Extrusion Science Building (ES) - 2551 Wacker Road, Savanna
• Reports To: Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to produce components according to specifications.
• Ensure all items meet our strict quality control requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and make necessary adjustments.
• Interpret blueprints and use basic measuring instruments.
• Complete all necessary documents accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies

• Ability to follow and interpret verbal and written work instructions.
• Ability to take initiative, demonstrating the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion without supervision.
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with team members and internal customers.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Proficiency in basic computer and mathematical skills.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous industrial manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated steady work history with minimal employment gaps.
• History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines and team operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Required to stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending and stooping required.
• Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
• Must be able to work in noisy environments.
