Job Summary

The CNC Operator will be responsible for producing premium quality, high precision carbide cutting tools using specific tool grinding machines and programs. The role includes programming, setting up, operating CNC machines, inspecting tools for visible flaws, and correcting quality issues to ensure a consistent product.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Set up switch and offsets as required.
• Accurately read blueprints.
• Inspect tools for defects using quality control tools.
• Program and operate the machine accurately.
• Continuously evaluate product quality through visual inspection and measurement tools.
• Communicate quality issues to programmers and/or General Managers.
• Check machinery daily to ensure functionality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of CNC Operator experience preferred.
• Certification from a qualified training institution in machining is ideal, but not required.
• Knowledge of cutters, inserts, and feeds/speeds preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong math skills required, including metric-to-inch and decimal-to-fraction conversions.
• Programming experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Light work involving bending into the machine, light lifting up to 20 pounds, and repetitive motions.
• Prolonged periods of standing at a machine.
