Position Type:

Full-Time

Department:

Manufacturing

Location:

Shelton, Connecticut

Position Summary:

We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for operating CNC machinery used in the production of precision firearm components.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. This is a hands-on manufacturing position where consistency, precision, and attention to detail are essential.

Previous CNC experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to established specifications and work instructions.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished components from CNC machinery.
  • Monitor machines during production to ensure proper operation and consistent part quality.
  • Perform routine in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Make basic machine adjustments as necessary to maintain part specifications.
  • Identify tooling, machine, or material issues and communicate problems to the appropriate supervisor or manufacturing personnel.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Perform deburring, cleaning, and other basic finishing operations as required.
  • Maintain proper identification and traceability of materials and components.
  • Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow established safety procedures and manufacturing protocols.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining required quality standards.
  • Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, and other manufacturing tasks as training and experience permit.
  • Work closely with machinists, supervisors, quality personnel, and other members of the manufacturing team.
  • Perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand basic manufacturing documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to identify quality issues and communicate them effectively.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the manufacturing area for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and fingers for machine operation and component handling.
  • Ability to lift and move raw materials, tooling, and finished components as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, oils, coolants, and metal materials.
Safety & Compliance:

Because this position involves the manufacture of firearm components, all employees are required to strictly follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies, manufacturing procedures, and safety requirements.

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States and meet all applicable requirements for employment in a firearms manufacturing environment.

What We’re Looking For:

We're looking for someone who wants to learn, takes pride in their work, and understands that precision matters. The right candidate doesn't need to know everything on day one—we can teach the technical side to someone with the right attitude and mechanical aptitude.

If you enjoy working with machines, solving problems, and seeing a finished part come off a machine that you helped produce, this could be a great opportunity to grow with our manufacturing team.
