L.H. Thomson Company, Inc. in Macon, GA is seeking an experienced CNC Mill-Turn Operator for the night shift to run and monitor precision aerospace components. You will setup and operate multi-axis machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

We value accuracy, adherence to AS9100D quality procedures, and a collaborative, safety‑conscious approach in a climate‑controlled facility with ITAR compliance. Night shift 3:00PM–1:30AM; full-time employment.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years CNC machining experience (aerospace or tight-tolerance industry preferred).
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining centers a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
  • Reliable, able to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mill-turn machines with sub-spindles to produce parts to blueprint specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.
  • Load programs, set offsets, and make minor program adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM as applicable).
  • Monitor tool wear and machine performance; troubleshoot basic issues during a run.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow AS9100D quality procedures and all safety protocols.
  • Communicate handoff notes clearly with other shift teams.

L.H. Thomson Company, Inc. (Thomson) is a precision aerospace manufacturer based in Macon, GA, producing machined parts and complex assemblies for customers including Boeing and Curtiss-Wright. Founded in 1981, Thomson operates a 65,000 sq. ft. facility and holds AS9100D certification, Boeing Silver Supplier status, and ITAR registration. We run a fleet of 4 and 5-axis MAKINO horizontal machining centers, Okuma vertical machining centers, and Okuma lathes and mill-turns. Thomson machines titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel to the tight tolerances the aerospace industry demands.

The Role

We’re hiring an experienced CNC Mill-Turn Operator for the night shift to run and monitor precision machining operations on complex aerospace components. This role suits a hands-on machinist who takes pride in tight tolerance work, efficient setups, clean/organized workspaces, and providing consistent quality.

LOCATION: Macon, GA

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time

SHIFT: Night Shift (3:00PM – 1:30AM)

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and operate CNC mill-turn machines with sub-spindles to produce parts to blueprint specifications

What We’re Looking For
