Job summary

Carraero in Reston, Virginia is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Programmer and Operator to join our dynamic team. You'll program, set up, and operate a Haas VF-4SS-HSE with 4th axis, machining aluminium and titanium for automotive carbon fibre components, moulds for airbox parts for street and race use.

You will also manage our range of 3D printers, stock tooling, order supplies, and create fixtures. Strong reading of engineering drawings, CAM skills (Fusion 360), and experience with Renishaw probing

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
• Experience with Fusion 360 or other CAM software.
• Familiarity with 4th or 5th axis machining.
• Knowledge of M code and CNC tooling handling.
• Experience using Renishaw probing for setup and inspection.
• Ability to manage 3D printers and fixtures for tooling.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience sourcing and ordering tooling and materials.

Job description

Overview

We at Carraero are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Programmer and Operator to join our dynamic, passionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CNC machining processes and be proficient in programming, setting up and operating a CNC mill, specifically a 2024 Haas VF-4SS-HSE with 4th Axis drive. Successful candidates will work closely with our engineering & design team to manufacture automotive carbon fibre components such as moulds for engine Airbox components, both for road and race. This will involve machining mostly aluminium & titanium parts in batch quantities but also ever-changing contract parts & setups.

Candidates will also manage our range of 3D printers and be responsible for stocking the tooling, ordering stock and tools when required, and creating custom tooling and fixtures using the printers.

Responsibilities
