Job summary

Allstar Magnetics in Vancouver, WA seeks an experienced CNC Mill Operator/Programmer to set up, program, and operate CNC vertical mills from blueprints and specs. You will support grinding operations and collaborate with Engineering to improve programs and tooling.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC vertical mills.
  • CNC programming experience using G-code and M-code.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
  • Experience selecting tooling and setting machine offsets.
  • Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and bore gauges.
  • Ability to inspect your own work and verify part dimensions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic shop math skills.
  • Consistent attention to quality and detail.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines.
  • Program and edit CNC equipment using G-code, M-code, and CAM software.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Select tooling, establish work offsets, and verify workholding.
  • Perform tooling changes and machine adjustments.
  • Operate CNC grinders (surface, Blanchard, ID/OD) where required.
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues.
  • Adjust programs and machining parameters to maintain tolerances.
  • Support machine calibration and preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on programming and process improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
