Job summary

PLI Manufacturing, a unit of Phoenix Defense, is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist for day shift to support aerospace fabrication. You will set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills, read aerospace blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience, experience with Heidenhain, Fanuc or Haas controls, and a strong commitment to quality and 5-S. Benefits include 401K, medical/dental/vision, PTO and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with CNC machining techniques and methods, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills.
• Proficient in interpreting aerospace blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operates, and adjusts CNC mill tools to perform standard and repetitive operations.
• Run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain 5-S Principles and department housekeeping.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a CNC Mill Machinist, you may be responsible for but not limited to:

• Set up, operates, and adjusts semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled CNC machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.
• Ability to run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
• Perform regular department housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Sustain production standards and quality.
• Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

ABOUT YOU:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with CNC machining techniques and methods, experience setting up and running 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC Mills.
• Experience using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Haas CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of operations including drilling, boring and milling, turning, etc., employing recognized tooling and procedures and where tolerances are close, but not difficult to maintain
• Proficiently interpret in depth aerospace blueprints.
• Self-motivated individual that needs minimal supervision to be successful.
• Ability to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in the English language.
• Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications
• Able to operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
