Job Overview

This role involves setting up, adjusting, programming (with assistance), coding, and operating machine tools to produce parts that meet engineering specifications. The successful candidate will be a team player, productive, and capable of meeting deadlines while maintaining high quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and run production on all machines while managing tool conditions
  • Program machines with minimal complexity, and learn to program at higher complexity with assistance utilizing Mazatrol, G‑ and M‑codes
  • Follow and develop standard work for setup, inspection, and deburring
  • Adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment when needed
  • Meet or exceed production targets and quotas
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve daily and monthly targets
  • Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines (horizontal, vertical, turning)
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
  • Operate machines to manufacture parts following detailed blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards
  • Conduct inspections to verify accuracy and quality of finished products per ISO requirements
  • Identify and report defects or issues in the machinist process and recommend adjustments or repairs to ensure product quality
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust to maintain product quality and machine efficiency
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet specified tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance on machine tools to ensure effective and safe operation
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues, making minor repairs or adjustments
  • Report significant machine malfunctions or maintenance requirements to the supervisor
  • Document inspection results in SPC data collection workbook
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setup, run times, and material usage
  • Report any deviations from specifications or quality issues to appropriate personnel
  • Document any issues, defects, or deviations from standard procedures
  • Complete production logs, work orders, and other required paperwork accurately
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
Core Competencies
  • Experience using hand, pneumatic, and power tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, presses)
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Ability to read and understand bills of materials, work instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrated time‑management, strategic thinking, and adaptability
  • Capacity to lift a maximum of 35 lbs individually and 70 lbs as a team
  • Test PSI limit not greater than 30,000
Preferences
  • 2+ years’ experience in fast‑paced manufacturing or other operations (preferred)
  • General computer knowledge (e.g., SSO login, JD Edwards, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Ability to program machines independently with high complexity utilizing Mazatrol, G‑ and M‑codes
Travel & Work Arrangements

This position is based at our site in Ivyland, PA; no travel required.
