Job summary

MPI seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a precision machining manufacturer near Chicago, IL, to lead development and deployment of manufacturing processes for new products while driving improvements across existing operations.

The role focuses on machining methods, tooling, fixturing, CNC programming, and process optimization to maximize efficiency, quality, and production performance. A strong background in CNC, GD&T, and CAM software is required.

Qualifications

Background in CNC machining (mills/lathes).
Experience with G-Code programming; CAM software is a plus.
Hands-on troubleshooting experience in manufacturing.
Understanding of GD&T principles.
Experience with fixturing/workholding for production.
At least 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
CNC programming experience using CAM software is a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
ERP experience is preferred.
SolidWorks experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products.
Drive improvements across existing operations.
Design fixtures and tooling for machining processes.
Prepare CNC tooling/setup documentation for new and modified products.
Oversee tool room tooling readiness and availability.
Audit processes and track productivity and cost reductions.
Evaluate machining processes to meet Quality Plan requirements.
Review CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
Train production operators on new or revised machining processes.
Develop process documentation and work instructions.
