Job summary

Laborup is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for a Bulls Gap, TN manufacturing operation. You will set up and operate CNC mills and Wire EDM, repair tooling, and read blueprints to ensure precise components.

This hands-on role offers ownership from print to part, with emphasis on diagnostics, tooling repair, and continuous improvement. You will work with CNCs, EDM, conventional mills and lathes, and surface grinders to keep production running 24/7.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related machining experience.
• CNC mill setup and operation experience.
• Strong manual machining experience.
• Blueprint reading and tolerance understanding.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and Wire EDM equipment.
• Manufacture new tooling and replacement machine components.
• Repair damaged dies, tooling, fixtures, and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Determine machining dimensions and setup requirements.
• Adjust machining processes to improve efficiency and part quality.
• Perform manual machining on mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
• Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues.
• Support production departments with urgent tooling and repair needs.
• Work closely with machinists, maintenance, operators, and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Job description

We’re hiring experienced CNC Machinists to support a large, established manufacturing operation in Bulls Gap.

This is a hands‑on machining role focused on building, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling and machine components. Machinists work with CNC mills, Wire EDM equipment, manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, dies, fixtures, gauges, punch tooling, sizers, and replacement machine parts.

You’ll work from blueprints and sketches, determine dimensions and tolerances, set up and run machining equipment, make process adjustments, inspect finished parts, troubleshoot tooling issues, and support production when tooling or mechanical components need to be repaired or replaced.

Compensation

• $32–$36/hr, depending on experience
• Full-time, direct-hire
• Overtime available as production needs require

• Weekend shift, 3 12's on day shift.
• Some overtime support when needed.
