Job summary

TECOMET is seeking a Production Team Lead in Michigan to coordinate daily operations, provide work direction, and address issues to meet business goals under company policy. You will drive Lean improvements, lead production activities, and manage resources within the value stream.

The role requires strong problem-solving, basic computer skills, and a customer-service oriented approach. Experience in manufacturing and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two-year degree preferred.
• Experience with Windows Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
• MRP/ERP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be a change agent and drive out waste using Lean methods and continuous improvement.
• Lead day-to-day production activities to meet commitments while improvements are made.
• Manage resources in the assigned value stream areas.
• Assist Group Lead in developing and communicating team adherence to policies and procedures.
• Ensure cross training of employees and update skills matrix.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Position Summary

The Production Team Lead will coordinate and facilitate the daily operations of the assigned area(s) of responsibility to provide adequate resources, on-going work direction, and problem solving to ensure business goals are met under the guidelines of the company policies and procedures.

Principle Responsibilities

• Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology. Responsible for identification of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead the day-to-day production activities within the assigned area to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
• Manage resources of the assigned areas of the value stream
• Assist Group Lead in development and communication of assigned team’s adherence to company policies and procedure.
• Ensure cross training of employees is conducted for development and skills matrix is updated
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; Two-year degree preferred.
• Experience at operating computers with familiarity with Windows Word and Excel, and Outlook

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

• 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred
• MRP/ERP knowledge preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• The ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics
• Advanced knowledge in common office applications and word processing software
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Understanding of safety practices
• Friendly, outgoing personality
• Strong customer service skills
