Job summary

MTI Motion is seeking a CNC Machinist specializing in Swiss turning for 1st or 2nd shift in Muskego, Wisconsin. The role requires setup and operation of Hanwah and Tsugami CNC Swiss turning machines with Fanuc controls to produce precision parts.

You will perform changeovers, execute first piece inspections, and document quality data while maintaining productivity in a job-shop environment. ISO-9001/AS-9100 experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss Turning Machines.
• Extensive knowledge of part drawings, GD&T, and associated shop math.
• Experience with Fanuc controls using G & M programming code.
• Strong knowledge of material types and characteristics related to machining techniques.
• Proficiently measure exacting tolerances with shop tools, gauges, equipment.
• Ability to operate or program CMMs would be a plus.
• Experience working within ISO-9001 and AS-9100 quality machining environments.
• High School or GED diploma, CNC Degree, Journeyman Machinist.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve job related information: routing, drawing, program, inspection sheets, etc.
• Review raw material for dimensions, quantity, defects, maintain heat lot traceability
• Perform all change-over related activities through first piece inspection, edits-offsets
• Utilize precision tools and gauges to measure part features/dimensions and document results according to in-process quality inspection requirements and AQL sampling intervals.
• Detect and troubleshoot machining and programming issues as they occur
• Operate secondary equipment to finish and clean parts for subsequent operations
• Maintain high level of awareness and attention to detail to achieve quality and production results
• Utilize PC or Laptop to record labor and production information
• Train other operators as needed on job related items
• Follows prescribed safety rules and procedures for all work
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep work area in a clean orderly condition.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The CNC Machinist will be Familiar working in a job-shop environment operating Hanwah, Tsugami CNC Swiss Turning Machines using Fanuc controls. Perform complete changeovers and achieve first piece inspections through executing required program edits / offsets. Accurately measure parts and complete associated quality documentation while ensuring production output is achieved. Operate other CNC Turning or Milling Machines when needed.

• 3-5 five years of experience set up and operating CNC Swiss Turning Machines

• Proficiently measure exacting tolerances on a consistent basis with shop tools, gages, equip.
• Ability to operate or program CMM’s would be a plus for any candidate
• Experience working within ISO-9001 and AS-9100 quality machining environments
• High School or GED diploma, CNC Degree, Journeyman Machinist
