Job summary

Capstone Precision Group in Mesa, AZ, seeks an experienced CNC programmer to work with Engineering to develop and produce new products. You will program, setup and operate Tsugami B0123-III Swiss screw machine, ensure parts meet print tolerances, and drive process improvements.

Must have 5+ years CNC programming experience, knowledge of G&M codes for Swiss machining, read blueprints and GD&T. A 2-year technical degree and CAM software experience (GibbsCam preferred) are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • GibbsCam CAM software experience preferred.
  • G&M codes knowledge for Swiss machining preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, manuals.
  • 2-year technical degree or certificate in machining or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of programming and operating CNC machines.
  • 3+ years programming/setup/operating Swiss machines; Tsugami experience appreciated.

Responsibilities

  • Program Tsugami Swiss machine.
  • Set up, operate and perform first article inspections on Swiss machine.
  • Run production with in-process quality checks.
  • Contribute to process improvements and report issues.
  • May set up/run CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Manual Grinder, Bandsaw.
  • Communicate with managers on nonconformances and issues.
  • Participate in audits and resolve issues timely.
  • Make data-driven decisions using historical knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area per 5S.
  • Improve tool room safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Read blueprints and GD&T; understand specs.
  • Support continuous improvement and best practices.

JOB SUMMARY

This position works closely with the Engineering Department and Draftsmen to develop, perfect and produce new products to bring to market. You will be expected to develop processes to ensure machined parts meet print design/tolerances, that are cost effective and efficient. This position is responsible for programing, setting up and operating a Tsugami B0123-III Swiss Screw machine.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Cam software programming experience. GibbsCam PREFERRED
  • Knowledge in G&M codes relating to Swiss machining. PREFERRED
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • 2-year technical degree/certificate in machining or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ experience programing and operating CNC machines.
  • 3+ years programing, setup and operating Swiss machines. familiarity with Tsugami machines appreciated
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Program Tsugami Swiss machine
  • Perform machine setup, operation, and first article inspections on Swiss machine
  • Run production while performing \"in-process\" quality inspections
  • Contribute to process improvements and report any operational challenges
  • May also be required to setup and run CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Manual Surface Grinder, Horizontal Bandsaw
  • Communicate with Department Managers and Plant Manager on nonconformance issues and general discussion.
  • Participate in department audits and ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Make fact-based decisions using data and historical knowledge.
  • Must maintain a clean and organized area by using the 5S Principals.
  • Recommend measures to improve tool room operations for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding specifications and GD&T
  • Be dedicated to continuous improvement. Research and brainstorming.
  • Support company objective and utilize best practices to meet goals.
  • Monitors setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Conducts light machine maintenance and repair.
  • Follow all safety and HESS policies.
  • Must be able to use advanced mathematical calculations such as geometry and trigonometry.
  • Expected to maintain machinery, equipment, and tools.
  • Working knowledge regarding inspection tools and use.

1. Must be able to stand, kneel, stoop, and bend for sustained periods (up to 3 hours at a time during 10-hour shifts).

4. Must be able to raise hands above shoulder level repeatedly throughout the shift.

For the most part ambient room temperatures and lighting as found in a typical office environment. Will be exposed to heat, cold and smells. Expect to work in confined spaces.
