Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 4 years of related machine shop experience.
• Strong geometry skills (plane and solid geometry).
• Ability to read safety rules, operating manuals and technical materials.
• Machine shop training in mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout and machining procedures.
• Specialized machine operation training or apprenticeship a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of machine operation safety.

Determines dimensions and tolerances of job to be machined. Uses machine tools ranging from lathes to milling machines. May operate console/computer (CNC) controlled machine(s). Utilizes precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

High School Diploma or GED plus 4 years of related machine shop experience. Mathematical skills required with emphasis on plane and solid geometry. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and technical materials. Position also requires machine shop training in mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout and machining procedures. Specialized machine operation training or apprentice a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of machine operation safety
