Job summary

Morris Group, Inc. seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to lead turning programs for 2-, 3-, and 5-axis lathes and to support milling when needed. You will develop complete processes, select tooling, define speeds/feeds, and create setup sheets for production runs.

The role requires strong on-floor collaboration, GD&T proficiency, and hands-on participation in process development in a high-mix, low-volume shop. Prototyping support and occasional 3-4 axis machining center work are also required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
  • Strong lathe programming experience.
  • Vertical Machining Centers with 3/4 axis programming.
  • Experience with Mastercam and Fanuc/OSP controls.
  • Ability to read prints and apply GD&T.

Summary of Responsibility:

Innovative Machinery Group is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support multi-axis turning operations, ranging from 2-axis tailstock lathes to sub-spindle / Y-axis configurations with the knowledge base to help support the milling department as needed.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in developing processes, proving out programs, and supporting operators to ensure efficient, repeatable results in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

What You Will Contribute:
  • Lead turning program development for 2,3 and 5 axis lathes

  • Develop complete machining processes; select the appropriate tooling, speeds/feeds, work holding, machining strategy, and create set-up sheets for production runs

  • Interpret prints and models to create practical, efficient machining approaches

  • Work directly with operators and set-up personnel to support daily production needs

  • Support frequent job changeovers and provide additional attention to one-off and short-run parts

  • Identify and implement improvements to cycle times, tool life, and process reliability

  • Maintain a master part program library

  • Support programming for 3 and 4 axis machining centers as needed

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience

  • Strong lathe programming experience

  • Working knowledge of Vertical Machining Centers (3/4 axis programming experience preferred)

  • Experience with Mastercam

  • Familiarity with OSP and/or Fanuc controls

  • Ability to read prints and apply GD&T

  • Comfortable working in a high-mix, low-volume environment with frequent setup changes

  • Self-sufficient and comfortable working with minimal supervision

  • Experience with SolidWorks (model review and basic modification)-Preferred, but not required

  • Experience supporting prototype or short-run production environments-Preferred, but not required
