Job summary

JASPER Engines & Transmissions seeks an experienced CNC Machinist for our Jasper, Indiana location. This role focuses on the setup, programming, and operation of CNC machine tools, ensuring precision in machining parts per customer specifications.

Candidates should possess strong CNC programming skills and the ability to interpret CAD drawings. The position offers starting pay of $22 per hour, with salary increases based on experience, and comprehensive benefits including health coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Prior lathe or milling experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk the entire shift (8–10 hours).

Responsibilities

• Set up and program CNC machine tools (lathe or mill).
• Establish machining operations and select materials for production.
• Operate mill or lathe controls and remove material according to specifications.
• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and t-gauges.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area.

Skills

Proficiency with CNC programming languages

Experience with CAD drawings and ability to sketch a part

Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry skills

Ability to use handheld tools

Knowledge of different metals and materials
