Job summary

BWXT NOGJ in Jonesborough, Tennessee is seeking a Machinist to support the Operations department. You will operate CNC lathes and conventional engine lathes, set up machines, and fabricate precision parts to meet customer specifications while following safety and quality requirements.

The role requires working 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, overtime and weekends as needed, and the ability to handle 10–12 hour days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of experience or an associate degree with 2 years experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints, set up and operate lathes and related equipment.
• Willingness to work 10+ hour shifts, overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and conventional engine lathes to fabricate precision parts.
• Set up machinery, perform machine offsets and inspect using gaging equipment.
• Read blueprints, document production and maintain a clean, safe work area.
