Job summary

Winkelmann Flowforming Technologies in Auburn, AL is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for our off shift with flexible days and hours. The role involves setting up, operating and maintaining CNC machines, with limited programming as trained, to produce precision parts per specifications.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or technical CNC degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of machining experience.
  • Basic understanding of cutting tools, speeds, and tool selection.
  • Operating or programming CNC mills and lathes with CAM software preferred.
  • Knowlege of blueprints, machine specs and precision measuring devices.
  • Mechanical aptitude and computer experience required.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of metal materials and machinability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Change tooling, setup machines, transfer programs to CNC modules; limited programming as trained.
  • Control coolant systems, clean and perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Perform manual and automated machining on lathes, mills, flowform, drills, etc.
  • Use inspection equipment including micrometers and calipers.
  • Identify equipment issues and aid troubleshooting to resolve.
  • Identify quality issues or damage to product and assist in resolution.

Winkelmann Flowforming Technologies (Aerospace and Defense Manufacturer) in Auburn, AL is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team on the off shift. The days and times are flexible whether 2 nd , 3 rd , weekend or hybrid. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This person will also be doing limited programming as trained. The CNC Machinist will ensure high-quality production while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Change tooling, setup machines, transfer programs to CNC modules.Limited programming as trained.

  • Perform manual and automated machining functions on lathes, mills, flowform, drill presses, etc.
  • Experience in the use of inspection and measuring equipment including micrometers and calipers

Requirements & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.Apprenticeship or technical degree in CNC Machining is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of machining, metal fabrication, CNC Mills, Lathes or comparable experience.
  • Basic understanding of cutting tools, power tools, their uses and selections, speeds, etc.
  • Operating or programming experience with CNC mills and lathes using CAM software is preferred
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, machine specs, and precision measuring devices, etc.
  • Mechanical aptitude and computer experience required
  • Forklift experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of a variety of metal materials and their machinability preferred
