Job description

Overview

IMI plc — We design, build and service highly engineered products in fluid and motion control applications. We focus on five market sectors: Industrial Automation, Process Automation, Climate Control, Life Science and Fluid Control, and Transport. We collaborate with customers to solve problems and create solutions that improve safety, sustainability and productivity.

Role-related responsibilities start with setting up and operating vertical machining centers, lathes, mills and other similar machines, performing operations such as forming, drilling, tapping, reaming, chamfering, cutting, and ensuring product quality through inspection methods under general supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate computerized numerically controlled lathes, mills, drills, bores, grinders.
  • Ensure that product quality meets IMI standards.
  • Maintain 100% (or above) productivity through proper set-ups and operation to minimize department costs while preserving schedule integrity.
  • Ensure quality parts while minimizing scrap and rework through proper use of measuring devices and visual or mechanical inspection, and accurate use of charts and records.
  • Recognize potential problems with products or processes to uphold IMI quality standards.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere through effective communication and respect for colleagues.
  • Maintain accuracy, neatness, and legibility of paperwork, reducing costs by minimizing tracking errors and corrections.
  • Keep workstation neat and orderly while following safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Maintain simple records, datasheets, work orders, and time cards accurately to avoid errors.
  • Maintain and increase job skills to allow flexibility within the department.
  • Adjust and troubleshoot; perform set-ups for new jobs.
  • Train new machinists.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Compensation

Pay range: $21 – $30 an hour

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
