Avispa Technology is seeking a CNC Machinist Level 3 to independently set up and operate CNC Swiss-style lathes, producing small, high-precision turned parts. The role is onsite in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688 with a 40-hour work week and a 24-month assignment.

Compensation includes $35/hr, W2 employment, and a full benefits package (group medical, dental, vision, life, retirement savings program, PSL). Day shift and a focus on quality and process improvement are required to succeed.

Formación

• 5+ years of CNC Swiss lathe experience with FANUC controls.
• Experience with carbide tool grinding/resharpening.
• Advanced metrology experience and GD&T interpretation.
• Ability to interpret drawings and setup sheets.
• Experience programming CNC machines.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes, verify programs, and adjust tooling and offsets.
• Own quality on shift; document production and ensure adherence to specs.
• Troubleshoot tool wear, alarms, surface finish, and dimensional issues.
• Follow drawings and setup sheets; suggest process improvements.
• Grind/resharpen carbide and HSS tools; keep area clean and safe.

A leading electronic testing company seeks a CNC Machinist Level 3to independently set up and operate CNC Swiss-style lathes, producing small, high-precision turned parts.

CNC Machinist Level 3 Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC Swiss-style lathes independently for safe, efficient, and continuous production, performing complete machine setups, including tooling selection, offsets, program verification, and first-article approval, and making in-process adjustments to tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain part quality and dimensional control.
• Take full ownership of product quality on shift, including inspection, documentation, and adherence to specifications and control plans, maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records, and escal quality, safety, or equipment concerns to prevent defects from reaching the next operation.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct machining issues such as tool wear, machine alarms, surface finish problems, and dimensional variation, and perform routine machine checks and preventive actions to minimize downtime and keep equipment ready.
• Follow standard work, drawings, and setup sheets while applying expert judgment to optimize process stability and cycle time, and support continuous improvement by proactively identifying process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and setup efficiencies.
• Grind, sharpen, and recondition carbide and HSS cutting tools per specification, and keep the tool and machine shop area clean, organized, and safe.

CNC Machinist Level 3 Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with CNC Swiss (lathe-style) machines, FANUC CNC controls, machining small high-precision turned parts, and independently troubleshooting machining and quality issues.
• Specialized training/certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with carbide tool grinding and/or resharpening.
• Advanced metrology experience.
• CNC programming experience.
• Ability to interpret specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
