Job summary

Leidos is seeking a CNC Machinist Lead for the Weekend Shift in Huntsville, AL. You will lead a small team, read drawings and CAD models, and set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes on aerospace-grade components, including exotic materials.

Preference for 5-axis/mill-turn and CAM experience, US citizenship and Secret Clearance eligibility. This role requires a High School diploma or GED and at least 5 years of precision machining, ability to lift 35+ pounds, and availability Fri-Sun

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with at least 5 years of precision machining on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted and stand for long periods.
• Full-time, 3-days per week 12-hours per shift, Fri/Sat/Sun 5:30am to 6:00pm.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a small team by example.
• The CNC Machinist must be capable of reading engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique precision parts.
• Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium, is a plus.
• 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience is a plus.
• This role will work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced R&D environment with little or no assistance.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with at least 5 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted and stand for long periods of time.
• Candidate must be able to work overtime when required.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Applicant must be able to work a full-time, 3-days per week 12-hours per shift, Fri/Sat/Sun 5:30am to 6:00pm.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 axis machining experience with Fanuc, Siemens 840D controls.
• two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool.
• Experience machining in a prototype environment.

Pay Range

Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
