The Work You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers
• Perform complete machine setups including tooling, fixtures, work offsets, and prove‑outs
• Edit and optimize CNC programs at the machine to improve efficiency, cycle times, and tool life
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, fixture, and program‑related issues
• Produce tight‑tolerance precision components in a production manufacturing environment
• Perform first‑article inspections and in‑process quality checks
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes
• Maintain setup documentation, tooling information, and process records
• Mentor and support junior machinists and operators
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, and waste reduction

Required

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience
• Strong setup and operation experience on CNC milling machines

• Experience with Haas and/or Okuma equipment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, offsets, and machining processes
• Experience performing first‑article and in‑process inspections
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Reliable, safety‑focused, and team‑oriented mindset

Preferred

• 4‑axis and 5‑axis machining experience
• CAM programming experience
• Experience in a lead machinist or mentoring role
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
• NIMS certification, apprenticeship training, or formal machining education
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing environments
