Job summary

Prototek in Rancho Cordova, CA is seeking a CNC Machinist II for 1st shift to produce precise parts with advanced milling and lathe skills. You will read complex blueprints, manage multi-axis setups, and optimize tooling in a fast-paced shop environment.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining quality and efficiency. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of set-up and programming experience in aerospace, defense, medical, robotics or industrial contexts.
• Advanced knowledge of mill and/or lathe machining concepts.
• Experience with complex fixturing techniques and tooling optimization.
• Proficient blueprint reading, GD&T, and tight tolerance machining.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple CNC machines.
• Perform multi-axis machining, including 3+1 and 3+2 indexing.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T requirements.
• Machine parts to tight tolerance specifications and determine surface finishes.
• Apply advanced milling/lathe concepts to improve efficiency.
