Inversion is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to develop, optimize, and support CNC programs for precision components. The role focuses on setting up multi-axis machines, reading GD&T drawings, selecting tooling, and maintaining tight tolerances for aerospace-grade parts.

The position requires 1–5+ years of CNC experience, familiarity with Fanuc, TNC-7, and Haas controls, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs while standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

  • Typically 1–5+ years of CNC set-up experience with 5-axis mills and CNC lathes.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, TNC-7, and Haas controls.
  • Able to hold tight tolerances to 0.0001.
  • Read blueprints, GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
  • Experience machining aerospace alloys (aluminum, titanium, Inconel).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with live tooling.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Select, install, and maintain tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Monitor machining runs and ensure parts meet print specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues; recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with programmers to maintain efficient workflows.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilledCNC Machinistto help develop,optimize, and support using CNC programs for machining components and tooling. The ideal candidate has experience in CNC machining processes, ensuring high-quality, precise, and repeatable production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with live tooling.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Select, install, and maintain tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.

  • Experience machining aerospace alloys (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, etc.).
  • Ability tolift upto 50lbsand stand for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and grow.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience working with 3-axis and 5-axis machines
  • Experience post-machining of additively manufactured components
  • Experience machining aluminum,titaniumand nickel alloys

Our office headquarters is located in Playa Vista, CA. This position requires in office presence.

The California hourly rate for this role is currently $30.00 - $37.00. Pay Grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
