CNC Machinist II | Star Pipe Products - Houston, TX 77082

SUMMARY

Star Pipe Products is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist II with expertise in Mazak, Fanuc, and HAAS equipment to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision metal components, ensuring parts meet quality standards and production schedules while upholding safe work practices and supporting efficient production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• New part setup, tooling, jaw, and fixture arrangements
• Mazak, VTL, HMC, HAAS, and Fanuc machine operation and program editing

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC machines (including turning and/or milling centers)
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
• Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and offsets
• Monitor machine operations and make minor program or offset adjustments as needed
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep machines clean
• Identify and report defects, machine issues, or safety concerns
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety and quality standards
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T symbols
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Diploma and/or graduate in mechanical/manufacturing engineering
• Minimum 5+ years of previous experience in a production or job-shop environment
• Preferred:
• Certificate or diploma in CNC Machining or manufacturing technology
• Experience with Mazatrol, Fanuc, HAAS, and G-code editing
• Knowledge of metal cutting tools and machining processes

Required:

• Certificate or diploma in CNC Machining, or a graduate in Mechanical/Manufacturing technology
