Job summary

Tecomet is seeking a CNC Machinist I to produce precision parts by operating CNC machines in a safety-conscious environment in Wilmington, MA. You will follow work instructions, inspect outputs, and maintain records in the company’s systems.

Responsibilities include routine machine maintenance, tool changes, hand finishing, maintaining OOQ standards, and contributing to continuous improvement while meeting production targets. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Associate's degree or machinist apprenticeship preferred.
• UK GCSE/NVQ Math and English is desirable (UK only).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines within specified tolerances per work instructions and drawings.
• Change dull tooling and make minor offsets for wear.
• Ensure product quality by OOQ standards and use measuring equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance per daily PM schedule.
• Perform hand finishing.
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete routers/cards.
• Maintain safe working practices and report safety issues.
• Meet productivity targets and identify improvement opportunities.
• Record activities in the job tracking system.
• Support Continuous Improvement activities.
• Maintain 5S/housekeeping in the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist I Produces machined parts by operating a computer numericalcontrol(CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

Principle Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings.
• Change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear.
• Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality(OOQ)standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipmentand interpretinginspection reports.
• Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere toPMschedule.
• Perform hand finishing.
• Always Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) including completion of job routers/ cards.
• Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks to the job holder and/or colleagues, including identifying and reporting Safety, Health & Environmental issues.
• Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity.
• Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system.
• Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities.
• Identify and support manufacturing issues to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor, participating in the resolution as required.
• Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards within work area.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)required
• Experience of working in a production environment (E/D)

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

• Associate's degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeshippreferred.
• GCSE/NVQ Math and English is desirable (UK only)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability or demonstrable aptitude to operate and maintain a CNC Machine
• Solid necessary math skills, including measuring and keeping count records
• Effective at planning, prioritizing and organizing tasks and activities with the ability to deal with competing demands within specified timescales
• Able to follow work instructions, proven record of quality, and on-time production runs
• Demonstrable commitment to safety at all times
• Attention to detail alongside ability to perform repeatable task over a prolonged period of time
• Positive attitude, reliable, and a team player
• Ability to identify problems and support as required
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Solid computer skills
