Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a CNC Operator to set up and operate CNC 3-axis milling and turning machines, producing precision aerospace components. You will read blueprints, perform multiple machining operations, and inspect parts to ensure they meet specifications.

You will troubleshoot tooling issues, perform routine preventive maintenance, and document production and quality data while collaborating with engineering and quality teams on prototypes and ramping production.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience working on 3-axis CNC machining and assembly OR equivalent schooling.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC 3-axis milling and/or turning machines.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience performing quality inspections using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Ability to perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, and turning.
  • Understanding of machine shop safety practices, PPE requirements, and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required and work around oils, coolants, and other manufacturing fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic machine care to maximize equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow Honeywell Aerospace safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations on prototype, development, and production activities.
  • Use micrometer and caliper for measurements.

Job description

As an CNC Operator here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. You will ensure that all parts meet quality standards and specifications, and you will work closely with the production team to optimize processes and improve efficiency.

In this role, you will impact the production process by ensuring high-quality parts are produced efficiently and on time. Your expertise in CNC machining will help drive continuous improvement and operational excellence within our manufacturing operations

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC 3-axis milling and turning machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, and turning.
  • Inspect parts using standard and specialized measuring devices to verify conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and make necessary machine adjustments.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine care to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all Honeywell Aerospace safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams on prototype, development, and production activities.
  • Use of measuring and machining tools (such as micrometer and caliper)

This role will support 5th Shift*

Monday & Friday - 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Saturday & Sunday - 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year experience working on 3- axis CNC machining and assembly OR equivalent schooling
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC 3-axis milling and/or turning machines.

HOURLY RATE

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $36.49 per hour, not including any shift differential.
