Job summary

Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team is seeking a Machinist to set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC equipment, producing precision aerospace components for critical engines.

This 3rd shift role (Mon-Thu 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM) requires reading blueprints, performing inspections, and maintaining quality while following safety standards in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CNC machining experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc controlled 4-axis turning lathes preferred.
• Machining technical training, military training, or Certified Manufacturing Specialist Program may be considered.
• Experience with retooling, minor maintenance, changeovers, and first article inspection in CNC Machinist roles.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products.

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, lathes, and other equipment to produce precision aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and shop orders to determine machining requirements and tooling.

What You Will Do:

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and shop orders to determine machining requirements and select appropriate tooling.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues, perform routine equipment inspections, and support preventive maintenance activities to maximize uptime and productivity.
• Collect production data and collaborate with team members to support operational performance, continuous improvement, and production goals.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and 6S standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
