We are seeking a talented and experienced 3‑Axis CNC Machinist to join our Manufacturing team. This position will support the production and manufacturing of aerospace components for the support of our Lunar program.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing specification charts, samples and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements and GD&T.
  • Work with Engineers to communicate needs, manufacturability and timeline.
  • Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
  • Create and maintain programs using CAM software
  • Prepare and mark raw materials needed to manufacture parts
  • Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
  • Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly
  • Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
  • Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
  • Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience programming 3‑axis CNC Mills.
  • Proficiency with component design and assembly management using 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with commonly used aerospace and commercial specifications for materials, processes, fasteners, mechanical components, etc.
  • Clear understanding of G and M code.
  • Knowledge of how to program, setup, and operate 3‑axis CNC mills with a high level of familiarity machining composites.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications and drawings.
  • Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot issues and make adjustments during the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain at your workstation throughout the day.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with Haas, Okuma OSP, Heidenhain controls.
  • Experience with the automated loading and unloading of parts using pallet changers, robotic arms, etc.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing and EDM.
  • Experience with Zeiss CMM.
  • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with standard practices for fabricating and manufacturing any number of parts from a variety of materials including but not limited to Aluminum, Titanium, High Nickel alloys and Carbon Fiber.
