Job summary

Hunt Valve Co., a Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) company, in Salem, Ohio, is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce parts within tight tolerances. The role requires reading blueprints, following engineering specifications, and collaborating with CNC programmers to ensure parts meet drawings.

The successful candidate will work 2nd shift with a 4:30 PM–1:00 AM schedule and overtime as needed; first-shift training is available for 30–90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience operating CNC and/or equivalent machinery.
• 1-year experience in Fanuc and/or Okuma Control.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering requirements.
• Ability to use inspection measuring devices.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods, and move about the facility.
• Experience programming at machine is a plus.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds frequently or 50lbs occasionally throughout an 8-12 hour shift.

CNC Machinist

• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM with overtime as required
• New hire training will be on 1st shift for 30-90 days (depending on the candidate): Monday-Friday, 7 :00 AM - 4:00 PM with overtime as required
• $1.00 per hour extra shift premium for working on 2nd shift

Summary

Hunt Valve, a Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) company, has been manufacturing valves for naval customers for decades. As the company continues to grow, it is in need of a CNC Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathe, while also understanding machining centers, lathes, and other equipment to produce parts to tight tolerances within .001. • Need to be well-organized and able to self-manage on tasks to completion
• Experience programming at machine is a plus
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds frequently or 50lbs occasionally throughout an 8-12 hour shift.
• Standing for up to 4 hours continuously
