Job summary

Zing Recruiting in Columbia City, IN is seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join a growing manufacturer. Multiple levels available based on experience and skill level. Location is Columbia City with a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift and pay scales per level.

Roles involve setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, reading blueprints, performing offsets, tooling management, and precision inspection. Contract-to-hire opportunity with room for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of machining experience preferred.
• CNC mill and/or lathe experience.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with machine setups, offsets, and tooling.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools.
• Strong knowledge of machine shop math and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, process prints, and setup sheets.
• Perform machine offsets and minor program adjustments.
• Select, maintain, and modify tooling as needed.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot tooling and programming issues.
• Maintain production records and follow safety and Lean manufacturing practices.
• Assist with training other team members.

Shift:3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Pay:
CNC Machinist I — $25–$28/hour
CNC Machinist II — $29–$34/hour
CNC Machinist III — $35–$39/hour
