Job summary

Shape Technologies Group in Baxter Springs, Kansas is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for the 1st shift (Mon-Thu, 5am-3pm). Starting at $25.50 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a four-day work week.

Ideal candidates will set up and operate Citizen Swiss, MA500 Horizontal, and Haas EC-1600 machines, read blueprints and GD&T, perform inspections, and ensure quality and productivity. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life and disability insurance,

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience setting up and operating Citizen Swiss, Manual Engine Lathe, MA500 Horizontal Machining Center, or Haas EC-1600 Horizontal Machining Center.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Proficient in precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles and processes.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality precision components.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; safety and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, workholding devices, offsets, and related equipment.
• Adjust offsets, tooling, speeds, and feeds to optimize production efficiency and quality.
• Read blueprints and GD&T to determine machining requirements.
• Produce precision components meeting engineering specs and customer expectations.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measurement tools.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed to maximize productivity and part quality.
• Complete routine machine maintenance and manage lubrication and coolant levels.
• Document inspection results, production data, and setup information accurately.
• Collaborate with programmers, engineers, supervisors, and team members to improve processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Produce precision components that meet engineering specifications and customer quality expectations.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maximize productivity and part quality.
• Complete routine machine maintenance and maintain proper lubrication, coolant levels, and machine condition.
• Accurately document inspection results, production data, and setup information.
• Work closely with programmers, engineers, supervisors, and team members to improve machining processes and resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience setting up and operating one or more of the following machines: Citizen Swiss, Manual Engine Lathe, MA500 Horizontal Machining Center, or Haas EC-1600 Horizontal Machining Center. Experience with multiple machine platforms is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience performing complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, and process adjustments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality precision components.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
