We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our team on the 3rd Shift. This experienced machinist will work in conjunction with other members in the torch machining department to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met with minimal downtime by machining parts needed to meet customer needs and demands. The position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in a safe manner.
- Work in a team environment focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards.
- Set up, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and operate multi-spindle screw machines.
- Work independently, responsible for specific or cross-functional tasks based on equipment.
- Interpret drawings and machine parts to specifications while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Perform in-process checks to ensure parts are produced efficiently and accurately, assuring quality before approving production.
- Inspect finished products for completeness and conformance to quality assurance procedures.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest remedies.
- Follow plant safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in Lean Transformation efforts, including safety initiatives.
- Assist others as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Complete paperwork accurately and timely as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by lead, supervisor, or manager.
- Perform all duties in accordance with our philosophy and legal, ethical, and contractual practices.
Desired Experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work order instructions, and operate required tools.
- Capable of reading and writing relay/ladder logic.
- Basic knowledge of machine repair.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.
- Proficient in using micrometers, dial calipers, height gauges, shop gauges, depth gauges, and dial indicators to inspect parts and verify dimensions.
- Ability to maintain tolerances and finishes to engineering and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to measure, read, write, and document work.
