Capewell Aerial Systems in South Windsor, CT is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC mills and lathes, ensuring quality and safety while maintaining records and equipment. The role requires reading and interpreting blueprints and setting up tools with fixtures and indexers.

You will inspect own work, perform tool changes, and support other operators to meet production goals. A precision manufacturing program and 1+ year CNC experience are preferred.

Qualificações

  • Completion of a precision manufacturing program required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in CNC manufacturing preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Responsabilidades

  • Operate CNC mills and lathes with vises, fixtures, and indexers.
  • Inspect own work using standard gauging tools.
  • Maintain quality and production standards.
  • Make tool adjustments and changes as needed.
  • Perform secondary operations when required.
  • Maintain equipment and shop area in a safe condition.
  • Assist other operators to sustain production and quality.
  • Complete inspection, work orders and process records.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures on the shop floor.
  • Be punctual and reliable with attendance.
  • Strive for continual improvement in processes and personal performance.
  • Contribute to meeting department and company goals.

REPORTS TO

Production Supervisor



POSITION SUMMARY

Produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Operate the various shop equipment including but not limited to CNC mills and CNC lathes using vises, fixtures, and rotary indexers.

  • Inspect own work with standard gaging.

  • Maintain quality and production standards.

  • Make tool adjustments and changes.

  • Perform secondary operations as required.

  • Maintaining equipment and/or machinery.

  • Assist in helping other operators to maintain production and quality.

  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures.

  • Fill out inspection, work orders and process records.

  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are required.

  • Work toward continual improvement of self and job.

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

  • Work cooperatively with other employees to meet department and company goals.

  • This position requires personal protective equipment on the shop floor where safety glasses and composite toe safety shoes are required by all.



OTHER DUTIES

Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors or management to support departmental and organizational objectives.



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS


  • Completion of a precision manufacturing program required

  • At least 1 year of experience in CNC manufacturing required

  • Must have experience with CNC Mills

  • Experience with HAAS equipment a plus

  • Able to work with minimum supervision

  • Able to set up and run multiple machines when needed

  • Desire to learn new skills

  • Must have good basic math skills

  • Able to read, write and speak English

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Previous independent work environment preferred

  • Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Tooling, Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

  • The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • The Team Member must occasionally climb up to 10 steps and/or 9’ high on a ladder

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.



WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive.

  • This is a full-time, onsite position.

  • The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 6:00AM - 3:30PM, and every other Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.



COMPENSATION

The hiring range for this position is $24-$32/hr. This range is an estimate and the actual hourly rate may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
