Globus Medical is seeking a Model Maker to take ideas from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing for surgical instruments and implants.

You will operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and EDM, calibrate equipment, and maintain machines in a fast-paced environment to ensure high-quality outcomes for patient care.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years’ experience in Machining/Tool & Die making or model making, preferably in the medical device area.
• Experience with CNC and manual mills, lathes, and EDM machines.
• Mastercam or related CAM experience a plus.
• High school diploma required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

• Fabricate models, prototypes, test parts, and low volume production of instruments and implants using CNC and manual equipment.
• Participate in design meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Ensure that machines and measurement equipment are calibrated regularly and in compliance with quality systems.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist in process and tooling development for manufacturing.

Position Summary

The Model Maker is responsible for prototype fabrication to support product development. This includes bringing a product from idea/concept through design, prototyping, development, testing, design verification and validation, manufacturing, and product introduction. The Model Maker will also be responsible for maintenance of the machines including calibration, regularly scheduled maintenance, and routine servicing.

Working Hours

2nd Shift, 2:00 – 10:00 PM; M-F

Essential Functions

Utilizes CNC and manual equipment including mills, lathes, and EDM for fabricating models, prototypes, test parts, and low volume production of instruments and implants. Participates and provides input in design meetings and ‘brainstorming’ sessions. Ensures that all machines and measurement equipment are calibrated regularly as needed and in compliance with Globus’ quality system. Performs routine maintenance and servicing machines to ensure smooth, trouble free operation. Maintains clean work environment by regular cleaning and upkeep. Assists in process / tooling development for manufacturing. Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role. Qualifications

3+ years’ experience in Machining/Tool & Die making or model making, preferably in the medical device area. Experience with CNC and manual mills, lathes, and EDM machines. Mastercam or related CAM experience a plus. High school diploma required. Proven creative skills in design and ability to improve existing designs. Strong self-starter who can work with little or no supervision. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. Well organized, detail oriented and team player capable of meeting deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
