You will work a full-time 10-hour day shift Monday through Thursday, perform troubleshooting, ensure quality, and support continuous improvement while maintaining a clean, safe workstation.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred.
  • Basic G-code knowledge.
  • Proficient in math.
  • Experience with machine tools and HAAS controls is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machines such as lathes and milling machines.
  • Adjust feeds, speeds and settings according to task.
  • Update setup sheets and programs as required.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Report major problems to maintenance or supervisor.
  • Review drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
  • Plan task sequence and monitor production quality.
  • Use inspection tools to check output and discard defects.

Job Title: CNC Machinist

Shift: Full Time Days 10 hr shift M-TH

Location: New London WI

Job Overview

A CNC Machinist performs tasks as directed by their supervisor utilizing the CNC Vertical Milling Center, Bridgeport Mill, Engine Lathe and CNC Lathe as well as other machine shop support equipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation:
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains CNC and manual lathes, saws, milling machines as well as other Machine shop equipment.
  • Selects appropriate machine settings for a given task.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and adjust machines as necessary.
  • Updates set-up sheets and programs as required.
2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Report any major mechanical problems to the maintenance team or supervisor.
3. Quality Control:
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Monitors production, adjusting feeds, speeds and other settings, as necessary.
  • Maintains inventory of completed products.
  • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
  • Supports and exhibits the focus of zero defects as well as right-the-first-time attitude.
  • Inspects work utilizing basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth gage, etc.)
4. Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Participate in safety training and drills.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
