Job description

This position is a working CNC Lead. You will troubleshoot others' setups and CNC machine issues, while also working as a CNC Machinist.

Set up and operate multi-axis (3, 4, & 5) milling center machines. Perform setups on proven NC (Numerical Control) parts, change tools, and reset tool offsets as needed. Conduct in-process inspections. Dismantle setups and return tools to proper locations after manufacturing runs. Report blueprint dimension discrepancies to management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines in manufacturing.
• Intermediate knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, bore gauges, indicators).
• Intermediate ability to read drawings and specifications, with understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and accessories.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Proficiency in English (written & oral).
• Adaptability to changing work environments and demands.
• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
• Basic math skills including geometry and algebra for material fabrication calculations.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• Willing to run multiple machines independently or in a team.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Troubleshoot CNC setups and issues; be the "go-to" person for CNC troubleshooting.
• Ensure quality parts on CNC machines under supervision.
• Load parts, operate controls, set offsets, perform simple edits, deburr, and inspect parts.
• Interpret drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Measure and mark dimensions on workpieces for machining.
• Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjust machines, and report issues.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
