Job summary

Mid Valley Industries, LLC is seeking a full-time CNC Machinist for our Kaukauna, WI facility. You will set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes and mills to produce large-part components, reading blueprints and work orders to ensure precision.

Responsibilities include selecting tooling, loading programs, performing machine setups, verifying tolerances with calipers and micrometers, inspecting finished parts, documenting production data, and maintaining a safe, organized work area with teammates

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions with understanding of tolerances.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or mills including tooling & offsets.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part quality.
  • Knowledge of large-component machining, material handling, fixturing, and overhead cranes safe operation.
  • Strong safety practices; lockout/tagout and PPE adherence.

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site CNC Machinist role located in Kaukauna, WI. The CNC Machinist sets up, operates, and monitors CNC machines to produce precision components, primarily involving large-part turning and milling. Daily responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and work orders, selecting appropriate tooling, loading programs, performing machine setups, and ensuring parts meet quality and tolerance specifications. The role also includes performing routine machine maintenance, inspecting finished parts using measurement tools, documenting production data, and collaborating with team members to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals. The CNC Machinist is expected to follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions; strong understanding of machining tolerances and basic shop math.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or CNC mills, including selecting tooling, loading programs, and adjusting offsets.
  • Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments to verify part quality.
  • Knowledge of machining processes for large components, including material handling, fixturing, and safe operation of overhead cranes or similar equipment.
  • Solid understanding of safety practices in a manufacturing environment, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and safe machine operation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and quality personnel.
  • Previous CNC machining experience in heavy industry or similar environments preferred; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, overtime as needed, and stand for extended periods in a production environment.
