Position Overview
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a range of CNC and manual machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong technical expertise in machining, programming, and equipment maintenance, as well as a commitment to quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Haas VF7 and SL20 CNC machines, as well as manual lathes, mills, gear hobbing machines, and FDM 3D printing systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision parts according to engineering specifications.
- Perform machining operations using lathes, mills, gear hobs, and broaching machines.
- Operate and maintain FDM 3D printers (Builder Extreme 2000 with Simplify3D software) for prototyping and production support.
- Inspect finished components to ensure conformance to dimensional and quality requirements.
- Apply Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and maintain familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and tools.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining efficiency and part quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist; CAM programming experience preferred.
- Proficiency operating Haas VF7 and SL20 CNC machines, as well as manual lathes and mills.
- Knowledge of FDM 3D printing processes and slicing software.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD models and technical drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, precision, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
