Job summary

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of CNC machining experience, can read blueprints, perform tool changes and make G-code edits, and maintain quality parts in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of CNC machining experience in a steel or heavy fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication blueprints.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Experience performing machine setups, offsets, and basic programming edits.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines (mills, lathes, or plasma equipment depending on facility needs).
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments to maintain accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records, including part counts and quality checks.
• Ability to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Now Hiring for a growing steel fabrication facility seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate, set up, and maintain CNC equipment used in the production of precision steel components. The ideal candidate has hands‑on machining experience, a mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high quality parts in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Location is onsite in Gainesville, GA.

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines (mills, lathes, or plasma equipment depending on facility needs)
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments to maintain accuracy

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
