Job summary

Trillium Professional in the Chicago area is seeking a CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist to produce quality parts with minimal supervision. The role requires setup, operation, and programming of CNC HBM equipment with Mastercam and Fanuc controls, reading blueprints and GD&T.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years’ experience in heavy manufacturing, strong math skills, and proficiency with precision measuring tools. The position offers a 1st shift from 7am to 5pm and pay up to $40/hr.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience operating CNC HBM Machinist in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Fanuc Control experience.
• Be able to create your own setup.
• Advanced reading of drawings and specifications with geometric tolerancing.
• Basic math skills for material fabrication calculations.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges).
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars and inserts used on various machines.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality parts on CNC boring mill with minimal supervision.
• Set up, operate, and program the machine.
• Interpret blueprints and perform GD&T checks.
• Inspect with precision measuring instruments and adjust as needed.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with team.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental rules.

Job description

Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity for a CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist in the Chicago area.

The pay rate is up to $40hr. Schedule is 1st shift, 7am-5pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Producing Quality parts on CNC Boring Mill, with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for set-up, operation, and programming
• experience with Mastercam programming
• Ability to understand blueprints
• Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for machining.
• Troubleshooting machine issues
• Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts.
• Works with shop supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions.
• Responsible for the enforcement of all Company Health, Safety and Environmental rules.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an advanced understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
• Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
• Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments, to include but not limited to calipers, ID & OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.
• Knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used on various machines
