Job summary

DRT Metal Packaging in Dayton, OH is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to join its manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC milling centers, read blueprints, and produce high-precision components that meet tight tolerances.

The role offers 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with overtime and Day 1 benefits and 401(k). You will work with advanced CNC machines, participate in continuous improvement, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC Milling Machines (HMCs/VMCs).
  • Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with tooling, fixtures, and precision inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines including HMCs and VMCs.
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and first-piece inspections.
  • Read blueprints and GD&T to ensure correct manufacture.
  • Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
  • Conduct in-process inspections with precision measuring tools.
  • Make tooling and program adjustments for quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor tool life and improve machining processes.
  • Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to meet requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

  • 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift | Monday - Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift | Sunday - Thursday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Overtime Available

Are you a skilled CNC Machinist who takes pride in producing high-precision parts? We're looking for a motivated CNC Milling Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. In this role, you'll work with advanced machining centers, tackle challenging projects, and play a direct role in producing complex components that meet demanding quality and performance standards.

What You'll Do
  • Set up and operate CNC Milling Machines, including Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) and Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs)
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, work offset adjustments, and first-piece inspections
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
  • Manufacture precision-machined components to tight tolerances
  • Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Make tooling and program adjustments to maintain quality, efficiency, and production targets
  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor tool life and identify opportunities to improve machining processes and cycle times
  • Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC Milling Machines, including HMCs and VMCs
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Experience with tooling selection, fixture setup, and precision inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Okuma, Makino, Mori Seiki, or similar control systems
  • Multi-axis machining experience (4-axis and/or 5-axis)
  • CNC programming and G-code editing experience
  • Experience with CAM software
  • Technical machining education, trade school, or apprenticeship training
