Job summary

Divergent is seeking a CNC Machining Specialist for 5-axis milling to drive precision fabrication of advanced components. You will lead setup, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex CNC operations in prototype and production environments.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturability, tooling, and process reliability, mentoring junior machinists and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating and optimizing multi-axis CNC machines (3-axis, 3+2, and full 5-axis).
• Strong proficiency with Siemens and Heidenhain controllers.
• Advanced understanding of GD&T and its practical application in precision machining and inspection.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize complex machining processes including tooling and fixturing.
• Experience mentoring machinists and operators, promoting strong machining practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup, operation, and optimization of advanced CNC equipment to produce high-precision components.
• Apply GD&T and engineering drawings to validate machining strategies and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Diagnose and resolve machining challenges, improving tooling, fixturing, and program strategies.
