Job summary

Ruger Firearms is seeking skilled CNC machinists in Prescott, AZ to support a fast-paced production environment. Starting wages are based on experience, with opportunities for quarterly profit sharing and shift differential pay on off shifts.

The role emphasizes measuring parts, adjusting precision CNC machines, and maintaining tight tolerances. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a machine shop, experience with CNC centers, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform quality audits using standard inspection equipment to ensure parts meet print specs.

Job Description

Starting wage is based on experience and shift. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing!! Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide direct support to production team in a fast-paced environment through the measurement of parts and the adjustment of precision CNC machines.
• Maintain current manufacturing processes and standards, troubleshoot issues as they arise and drive to root cause, and identify improvement areas within the process
• Work hand-in-hand with the manufacturing engineer to make changes and improvements to ensure the safety, quality, production, and cost goals are being met
• Monitor tooling and conduct tooling tests with outside suppliers and manufacturing engineer
• Perform quality audits using standard inspection equipment to ensure parts meet print specifications

Basic Qualifications And Skills

• Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years machine shop experience
• Understanding of component machining using CNC machining centers (mill and lathes) and component inspection using metrology equipment to control extremely tight tolerances (CMM, in-line gaging, surface plate, air gaging, etc.)
• Understanding of CNC programming for both milling and turning, G-Code and M-Code, machine tool setup and integration, tooling, macro-programming, fixture and gage design
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (experience with GD&T would be preferred)
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Experience with Lean production systems
• Works well in a team environment and has a servant leader mentality

Physical Demands

Associates are frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position can involve sitting, walking and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day. Job is performed standing all day. Job requires substantial movement/motion with regard to walking, bending, lifting, grasping and applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palms.

Requirements

You must be a minimum of 18 years old, and able to pass both a background and drug screen.
