Role Description

The CNC Machine Operator – 2nd Shift is a full-time, on-site role based at MAPCO Manufacturing in Canton, MI. This role is responsible for operating, and monitoring CNC machinery to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include loading materials, performing machine adjustments, verifying dimensions using measurement tools, and maintaining quality and production records. The operator will perform routine machine maintenance, follow safety and housekeeping standards, and communicate with supervisors about production issues or process improvements. Collaboration with the quality and production teams is expected to meet output targets while maintaining high quality and consistency on the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in CNC Machine Operation and general Machining, including operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment.
• Candidates should possess experience in Milling and/or Turning, and working with various types of Machinery relevant to precision part production.
• Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpreting engineering drawings or blueprints.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience as a CNC operator or machinist in a production or job-shop setting is preferred.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and overtime as needed to meet production demands.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent / technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing are beneficial, but not required.

Shift is full time, and standard 8 hour schedule is 4:15 pm to 12:45 am, Monday through Friday.

9 hour schedule is 4:15 pm to 1:45 am.

10 hour schedule is 4:15 pm to 2:45 am (typical).
