Job summary

J. Baur Machining is a Mars, PA based manufacturing company with 40+ years in precision machining and contract manufacturing. We are seeking an entry to mid-level CNC Machine Operator for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM) with Fridays-Sundays off.

You will learn to read blueprints and operate Mazak/Multi-Tasking, Mazak Horizontals, and HAAS machines in a small, family-owned shop. Opportunity for students pursuing machining trades; training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints with understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
• Basic machining knowledge and ability to operate hand/power tools.
• Competence with mathematics and precise measurement.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude; capable of taking feedback.
• Willingness to train and advance in machining trades.

Responsibilities

• Take instruction from the CNC Set-Up machinists for running your part.
• Operate manual and CNC machine tools including loading/unloading material.
• Observe material cutting processes and maintain tool life and compensation.
• Detect and report defects and ensure parts meet blueprint specs.
• Perform routine machine/tool maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Complete finishing operations to conform to specifications per blueprint.

J. Baur Machining is a manufacturing company located in Mars, PA. We have been a leader in precision machining and contract manufacturing for over 40 years. We are family-owned business made up of about 20 amazing employees. We feature automated CNC technology that includes 18 CNC machines in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. We love Mazak, Multi-Tasking equipment!

Who Are We Looking For:

This position if for our 2nd shift. Your set schedule would be Monday thru Thursday, 11AM - 10:30pm (44 hour work week). You will be off work Friday- Sunday. We are looking for an entry to mid-level CNC Machine Operator who understand machining basics such as blueprint reading and the ability to operate basic hand and power tools. We are willing to train and progress an ambitious, self-starter who wants to learn the trade of machining. This is also a great opportunity for any college/trade school student in the process of earning their machining trade certificate. As a Machine Operator, you will have the ability to operate CNC equipment such as Mazak Multi-Tasking Equipment, Mazak Horizontals, and HAAS Verticals. What Your Day May Look Like:

• Take instruction from the CNC Set-Up machinists for running your part.
• Operate manual and CNC machine tools that include loading and unloading material to and from the machine tool work holding.
• Observe material cutting processes.
• Perform tool life management and tool compensation.
• Detect and report defective material, product, and equipment at machine tool.
• Complete parts finishing operation of the product to ensure it conforms to specifications per blueprint.
• Complete machine tool routine maintenance.
• Trouble shooting on machines in this fast-paced environment.
• Complete parts finishing operation to ensure the parts conform to specifications per blueprint.
• Perform machine tool routine maintenance.
• 2nd shift: Monday thru Thursday 11am-10:30pm (Shift diff payout)

The Perfect Candidate:

• Know or be willing to learn how to read and interpret blueprints and have a strong understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to use and operate hand or power tools and finishing tools.
• Knowledge of math.
• Mechanical aptitude and meticulous.
• Team Player with agreat attitude that can work well with others and be able to take correction.We are a small company that strives for a pleasant work environment for all.

This position's pay is highly regarded to the level of experience that they bring to Baur Machining. Pay is at an hourly rate and will be negotiated based on your experience.
