Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) is seeking candidates for CNC machining roles focused on setting up and operating multi-axis machining centers to produce high-quality window and door components. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to blueprints and specifications.

Ideal candidates will have introductory CNC skills, tape measure reading ability (1/32"), and a mechanical mindset. Attention to detail and basic computer familiarity are beneficial for success in a fast-paced shop

Qualifications

• Introductory CNC machining knowledge.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32" accuracy.
• Appetite for a mechanical role to improve equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Machining experience is helpful.
• Detail-oriented experience.
• Familiarity with computers.
• Good organization and work-structure skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as a core principle.
• Interpret work orders and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
• Set-up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers.
• Ensure proper machine adjustments.
• Machine quality parts for window & door manufacture.
• Perform quality workmanship with dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect completed parts according to specifications.
• Document and report productivity and non-conforming records.
• Perform secondary machining operations as needed.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines as prescribed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
• Participate in continuous improvement culture.
• Collaborate professionally with teammates.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Qualification/Education Requirements

• Introductory skill level in CNC machining
• Ability to utilize various machine-shop measuring instruments helpful
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32\" accuracy
• Appetite for a mechanical job role striving to deliver OEE (Optimal Equipment Effectiveness)
