CNC Machine Operator

Location: Onsite? (unspecified)

Shift: 1st Shift – Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (includes overtime and weekends).

Pay: Up to $20.68 per hour. Guaranteed increase after three months.

Perfect attendance bonus up to 2 additional days off and $1,000.

Job Overview

The Machine Operator will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures. Tasks include constructing, assembling, or rebuilding machines such as blowers, pumps, boosters, and similar equipment used in industries such as transportation, manufacturing or wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Develop and improve standard work worksheets for consistent machining and assembly processes to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools (lathes, milling machines, etc.), selecting and securing appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials.
  • Engage in the 5 Why Process for problem‑solving and continuous improvement, and collaborate with engineering and supervisory personnel for technical support.
  • Assemble and align components for various units using standard work and engineering documents, verifying clearances and ensuring proper lubrication and cooling.
  • Maintain equipment efficiency by operating, reworking damaged parts, reading Bills of Material, cleaning, and lubricating machines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Mechanical – knowledge of machines, tools, designs, use, and maintenance.
  • Production and Processing – knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost maximization.
  • Mathematics – knowledge of arithmetic and algebra.
  • Operation Monitoring – monitoring instruments to ensure proper machine operation.
  • Quality Control Analysis – testing and inspecting products, services, or processes.
  • Operation and Control – controlling equipment or system operations.
  • Troubleshooting – determining causes of operating errors and deciding corrective actions.
  • Equipment Maintenance – performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Preferences
  • At least 2 years of assembly and/or CNC machining experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Ability to determine and complete offsets through basic mathematics.
  • Required to walk and stand regularly, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Travel & Work Arrangements
  • Fully site based.
