Job summary

Epiroc Drilling Solutions, LLC in Fort Loudon, PA, is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts to tight tolerances. Operates lathe/mill and NC machines, reads blueprints, and supports production with basic setup and tooling changes.

You will follow safety guidelines, maintain 5S, document inspections, and work overtime as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods; forklift operation training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Follow safety guidelines and wear PPE as required.
• Be capable of basic setup and tool changes on CNC equipment.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment (lathe/mill/NC) to fabricate parts meeting tolerances.
• Read schematics and setup work area to ensure materials are ready.
• Monitor cycle times and productivity; adjust offsets as required.
• Identify worn tools and perform replacements as directed.
• Perform quality inspections and document results per SOP.
• Maintain a clean, organized 5S-compliant workspace.
• Safe forklift operation after training.

Operates special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe/or mill) and or numerical control (NC) machines for fabrication of metallic and nonmetallic parts that hold to the high-quality machine standards required within the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements set forth by the SHEQ department. Assist SHEQ in promoting and monitoring Safety First initiatives and goals as stated in the operational policies throughout the organization.
• Complete all necessary and required training according to Epiroc policy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment according to 5S requirements.
• Maintain acceptable attendance for your designated work shift according to company policies.
• Ability to work overtime as requested or required by the company.
• Basic operation of CNC equipment and automation.
• Basic setup of work area to ensure all production materials are available.
• Maintain productivity according to cycle time of jobs and workpiece.
• Ability to cycle parts on multiple machines and work centers simultaneously
• Capability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and basic setup requirements.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine control as required.
• Ability to adjust basic machine offsets to maintain tolerance.
• Ability to identify "worn" tools and replace. (changeout of cutting inserts, drills, mills etc.)
• Must demonstrate a basic skill level (indicate part, turn OD's and qualify ID and OD).
• Ability to use inspection tool such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Document quality inspections as directed by SOP.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch and stand for extended periods of time.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
• Safe operation of fork lift once training is completed.
