Job summary

PacAero Agawam, located in Agawam, MA, is seeking an experienced CNC Lead who excels in milling setups and on-the-floor leadership. This hands-on role supports complex setups, troubleshooting, and coaching machinists to maintain quality and throughput on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace/high-precision CNC milling, strong GD&T skills, and proven ability to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of CNC milling experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on CNC milling knowledge and machining fundamentals.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC milling equipment (3-, 4-, 5-axis).
• Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and tight tolerances.
• Experience with CNC controls such as Haas, Okuma, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNC milling setups on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
• Support first-piece proves-outs and first-piece inspections.
• Verify tooling, offsets, fixtures, and setup accuracy before production runs.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and process issues to keep production moving.
• Lead machine setup/changeovers and support continuous improvement on the floor.
• Mentor machinists on setups, tooling, and machining techniques.
• Coordinate daily priorities and workflow with the Machine Shop Manager.
